Civil War Era Militia NCO Sword, by Baker & McKenney, 25'' double-edged etched blade with Stand of Arms and scrolls, cast naval bronze hilt with shield-shaped langets, and horizontally fluted bone grip. In black leather scabbard with brass throat and tip. Condition is excellent showing even toning to brass and one small loss to one of the grip flutes. Blade with good detail. Scabbard marked ''2'', with some thinning where it contacts chape. Often seen in Civil War photographs, this type sword no doubt saw service during that conflict. Est.: $200-$400.
