U.S. Model 1868 Trapdoor Springfield Rifle, #44275, .50-70 cal., 32-1/2'' bright barrel, 1864 dated lockplate, 1870 dated breechblock, walnut stock, with two barrel bands and adjustable rear sight. Condition is very good to fine with most of the finish having gone bright. Bright surfaces with dried grease and light carbon spotting. Stock with scuffs and scratches, oil darkening, and several small losses to top edge between barrel bands on left side. Ramrod is present. Good action, fine bore. Est.: $750-$1,000. (Antique)
