Lot 326a US Springfield 1816 Conversion .69 Cal
NVSN U.S. Military model 1816 flintlock rifle converted to percussion chambered for .69 caliber ammunition and manufactured by Springfield Armory. Features a 42" barrel with bayonet lug, steel button head ram rod, three barrel bands, brass blade sight on front barrel band, sling swivels and full wood stock. Markings: Lock- American eagle over 'US' 'Spring/Field/1825" Barrel- 'P' in oval, eagles head and V, Butt Plate - 'US', Trigger Guard - 'DB' & 'B' Barrel Bands - all marked 'S' as is sideplate and Stock - marked with two cartouches that are hard to make out. Condition: Barrel, barrel bands, side plate and trigger guard are all in-the-white with light scattered pitting, lock has a darker grey patina, buttplate has dark surface rust & stock is in good condition. Condition over all is very good as a converted antique. ***Antique Firearm***
