^Lot 1173 Mauser Mod. 98 Cal: 8mm SN:12400

German military bolt-action rifle with a 24" barrel and a leather sling. Producer coded "bcd" (Gustloff-Werke) and dated 1945. Last ditch production with rough castings and many stampings with welds. Probably never blued. Floor plate is marked "byf" which would be Mauser AG Oberndorf. All serial numbers on steel match. Wood has a different serial number stamped on it. Stock is a laminate with a rough finish and a few dings. Bore is shiny with rifling. Action works well. Condition is very good as a last ditch product.
