^Lot 889 Custom Mauser Gew 98 Cal: 8mm SN: 4122

Rifle built on a military Mauser 98 action with Imperial proofs. Blued bolt-action custom rifle with a 23-3/4" barrel and a scope. Metal has been polished and re-blued and has some scratches with freckles of surface rust. The bolt handle has been bent down and a low scope safety has been added. The scope is a Weaver K4 on a Buehler base. Stock is an American Classic with cheek rest for a right handed shooter. There was a diamond shaped item inlaid in the cheek rest which is missing. The butt pad has ossified. Wood is in good shape with a few little storage/transport scratches, rubs and dings. Bore is bright but may have some small pitting in it. Action works well.
