98 Mauser military action made at Danzig Arsenal with a Springfield 1903 23-1/2" barrel dated 2-29. Receiver, floor plate, grip cap and bottom metal have all been plated with over 99% plating remaining. Bolt shroud and bolt stop have surface rust and pitting. Blued barrel has edge wear. Recoil pad is almost ossified. Wood stock has cheek rests on each side, side panels and a forend tip halfway between a schnabel and an Alexander Henry. There is a cross bolt. There are a few scratches and dings. Bore is bright and shiny. Action works well. *Modern Firearm*
