Early 19th Century English Spyglass, with sunshade, by T. Cooke & Sons, Ltd. (London, York & Capetown); brass bodied with leather cover and of good quality. Condition is good to very good with dings and scuffs to brass tube, and minor shrinkage to leather cover. Eyepiece is marked ''High'', probably for the type of magnification. Optics remain remarkably clear. Overall length is 33-1/2'' when compressed. Est.: $150-$300.
