American Railway Express marked Colt Police Positive Double Action Revolver, #171807, .38 Colt cal., 4'' barrel, blue finish, factory checkered walnut grips with Colt medallions. Backstrap marked ''Am. Ry. Exp.''. In original ''R.E.A./Express'' marked holster. With factory letter verifying all features including markings to backstrap. As shipped to S.A. Erd, Superintendent, American Railway Express Co., Chattanooga, Tennessee, Jan. 12, 1926. Condition is very good retaining approx. 80%-85% original blue. Left panel with missing sliver at backstrap; right panel shows slight flattening. Action and bore are good. Holster with scuffs and oil darkening; serial number of pistol written in pen and ink to inside flap. Est.: $500-$750. (C&R)
