U.S. Model 1877 Trapdoor Carbine, #87121, .45-70 cal., 22'' barrel, blue and case hardened finish, with 1877/ESA circular cartouche. Considered scarce with only approx. 2500 mfg'd in this configuration. Condition is very good to near fine. Barrel retains approx. 30% thinning and moderately thinning blue. Case hardened components have toned a silvery gray. Lockplate retains approx. 85% blue, with light to moderate spots of pitting to triggerguard. Stock shows very light evidence of sanding with cartouches being approx. 90% crisp and visible. Action remains crisp, bore is fine to near excellent. Est.: $1,800-$2,400. (Antique) c
