Sharps Model 1853 Slant-Breech Carbine, with Hartford address, #16921, .52 cal., 21-1/2'' barrel, bright barrel, case hardened frame, brass patchbox, buttplate and barrel bands; with pellet priming device and smooth walnut stock and handguard. Lightly cartouched to left side at wrist. Condition is very good with moderate general patination, light scuffs and scratches to wood, and wear at balance point of forend. Pellet primer has been later de-activated, perhaps during the Civil War. Action is very good, as is bore. Est.: $2,500-$3,500. (Antique)
