Percussion Kentucky Rifle, signed ''J.S.'' in script on top flate, .38 cal. rifled, 36'' octagonal barrel, dual set triggers, curly maple stock with nicely formed crescent cheekpiece on left side, and fancy brass patchbox with five piercings; there are 27 silver inlays of shields, ovals and other freeforms from end to end of stock. This Southern rifle is attributed to the Carolina region. Condition is very good overall. Approx. ¬'' of wood along top forward half of forend on both sides has been properly restored and barely visible. Est.: $2,000-$3,000. (Antique)
