^Lot 13 Presentation American Flintlock Musket

Presentation American Flintlock Musket, .69 cal. smoothbore, 41-1/2'' round barrel, 55'' overall, walnut stock with checkered wrist and 3''x5'' silver inlay of the American eagle nicely engraved on right side butt area; silver shield escutcheon in wrist area; three (3) spring-retained barrel bands secure the barrel to the stock. Ca. 1820 period. Muskets of this type were custom period built to be presented to recognize individuals at shooting matches for special services of valor. Condition is very good, as properly reconverted back to its original flintlock configuration. Walnut stock shows a nice dark aged patina with moderate handling dings and wear. Est.: $1,800-$2,500.
