Fine Early to Mid-19th Century Belgian Flintlock Coat Pistol, .64 cal., 8-1/2'' fine twist octagonal barrel with Liege proofmark, lightly scroll engraved lockplate and hammer, checkered European walnut stock, engraved nickel silver ramrod ferrule and triggerguard, with scalloped shell trap in butt; ''VP'' proofmarks to lockplate and barrel, rosewood rammer with brass tip. Condition is fine to near excellent. White barrel shows light carbon spotting, as does sideplate. Stock with mild flattening to checks and light nicks forward of lockplate. Action is good, smoothbore shows little use. Est.: $1,200-$1,800. Antique.
