ONE ON ONE, GUIDED FREE RANGE BARBARY SHEEP (AOUDAD) HUNT IN TEXAS
ONE ON ONE, GUIDED FREE RANGE BARBARY SHEEP (AOUDAD) HUNT IN TEXAS Hunt Barbary Sheep next year with renowned LOH Outfitters in Texas. These hunts are quickly becoming favorites of big game hunters and sheep hunters alike. Barbary sheep, also known as aoudad, were introduced to Texas and New Mexico in the 1950s as a game animal. The first release of aoudad occurred in the Davis Mountains in 1957. Since then, they have been introduced to other areas of Texas, and they have become a favorite hunt for Western hunters. Barbary sheep are truly an amazing animal, primarily living in rocky, cactus flats; their diet consists of 90% cactus and yucca. This enables the sheep to go longer than other animals without visiting waterholes. This makes them very interesting to hunt and makes for a lot of time spent behind a good set of optics. These animals create a very special and unique hunt. This hunt is a free range and fair chase hunt that will take place on over 20,000 acres of private land in Texas. There are no high fences but there are outstanding sheep populations. The hunt is a 1 on 1 guided hunt with 5-star accommodations at the ranch houses. This hunt has 100% opportunity and typically 100% success. Hunters can reasonably expect to harvest a 30” ram with the potential for much larger. This is a 4-day hunt that takes place near Fort Davis and Alpine, Texas with hunt dates between December 2023 to May 2024. The best hunt times are Mid-February 2024 through May. Hunters can fly into Midland, Texas and rent a car for a 2 hour (+/-) drive to where the guides will meet you. The accommodations include great food and a fully stocked bar at the ranch house. You will be hunting 1 on 1 with your guide from LOH and they can tailor the hunt to anyone’s physical needs. Additional hunters can be added for $8,950. Hunter is responsible for: • Texas exotic license, cost of $48 • Tips and Gratuities • Airfare and rental car Donated by LOH Outfitters

BRITTANY PUP FROM SQUARE BUTTE BRITTANYS
BRITTANY PUP FROM SQUARE BUTTE BRITTANYS This male puppy is a result of a 32 year breeding program that has produced 3 consecutive generations of field champions, wins at the National Level with 3 different dogs, and 5 generations of field trial winners, plus the addition of an old southern line of dogs with wonderful dispositions who were born to hunt. These dogs come with great noses and tremendous endurance. They have big bones with dark pads on their feet to protect them in rough country. They exhibit a serious desire to hunt mixed with lovable temperaments and natural intelligence. Proven to be instinctually superior and requiring minimal training before they are hunted, numerous dogs from these bloodlines have had limits of wild birds shot over them before they were 8 months old. This pup has been wormed at 4 weeks and given 2 rounds of shots with a 5 way booster. Completely socialized to dogs and people, he arrives with papers, and shot records complete with dates and feeding instructions. He is healthy, happy, and ready to go to a great home. Bred for brains, talent and temperament he will be an asset to anyone’s life. Both sides of these lines are hunted on the high plains of Montana, one by an outfitter and the other by a retired field trialer who both require the best dogs available to maintain their standard of excellence. *There are number of chukar hunters in Northern Nevada that have dogs from Terry of Square Butte Brittanys. For a firsthand reference of these dogs, please talk to NBU President Tom Fennell and NBU Director Trevor Puryear, both own females from this same breeder. Donated by Square Butte Brittanys

12-DAY SPANISH IBEX GRAND SLAM WITH IBERHUNTING
12-DAY SPANISH IBEX GRAND SLAM WITH IBERHUNTING Travel Spain in style with IberHunting. This incredible package will take you to four hunting areas, allowing the hunter to experience a unique opportunity to complete the Spanish Grand Slam in a single trip (Gredos Ibex, Beceite Ibex, Sierra Nevada Ibex, Ronda Ibex). The best period to hunt all four species is during the rut time (November – December) or during spring. This package can also be combined with other species such as Balearean Boc, Cantabrian or Pyrenean Chamois, or any other kind of Spanish game. You will be accompanied by a professional guide on highly recognized Spanish Hunting Reserves known for their beautiful trophies and remarkable management. This trip will take you through four separate locations in Spain where you will experience different landscapes, delicious regional cuisines, various traditions, and the same welcoming people in each of the places you visit. This “Ibex Grand Slam” program is based on 12 days, 11 nights. This is informative and there may be some variability depending on the outcomes of the different hunts. Trip Summary You will arrive at Madrid airport (Adolfo Suárez Airport), where Iberhunting staff will meet and accompany you through the duration of your trip. After receiving rifle clearance, you will be transferred to the hotel close to the Gredos hunting area, have dinner in the restaurant at the hotel, and relax for the beginning of the adventure. 1st Destination – Gredos Ibex (Days 1-3) Gredos Ibex are famous for being the biggest of the four different Spanish ibex. Characterized by a dark coat, and along with the Ibex of Beceite, has the largest horns. You will stay in a small boutique hotel with a welcoming ambiance and beautiful natural surroundings and excellent cuisine. Eateries in Castilla y León include roast lamb, pork, fresh beef and discovering the delicacy of codfish and trout in recipes. You will discover the Spanish tradition and taste in the use of basic fresh ingredients and locally farmed produce. Dinners include sublime sweets made in old monasteries and convents, local high-end wines, with a setting along the Duero river. 2nd Destination – Beceite Ibex (Days 4-6) The second hunt will take place in the high mountains in the Beceite hunting area. Male Beceite Ibex have large, ringed horns that expand laterally like airplane wings, a characteristic that distinguishes this species from ibex found in other areas of the country. Los Puertos de Beceite is a mountainous massif and due to its geographic location near the Mediterranean, this community is a place of amazing contrasting landscapes reflected in the local cuisine, where you’ll find both traditional flavors and culinary innovations of exceptional quality. Valencian cuisine is characterized by a wealth of recipes that are as healthy as they are delicious. The secret lies in the natural ingredients from the sea and the garden: the oils, vegetables, spices, fruits, meat and fresh fish dishes that make up the “Mediterranean Diet”. The hotel, Martin el Humano, a building from the 18th century, is located in an incomparable setting surrounded by history and nature with an enchanting atmosphere that will make your stay or event an unforgettable experience. Its award-winning chef, Javier Simón, offers a wide variety of a-la-carte lunch and dinner options. 3rd Destination – Sierra Nevada Ibex (Days 7-9) The third destination is to pursue the Sierra Nevada Ibex, which is a very ancient species. Males have thick, rough, knotty horns and are usually in the shape of semicircles curving backward. They move easily around vertical rock walls, thanks to the non-slip peculiarity of their hooves. The Sierra Nevada is a mountainous massif belonging to the Baetic mountain range, more specifically, the Penibetico range. For accommodations, you will stay at a charming hotel situated in the heart of the countryside. This nice family hotel and restaurant will captivate you thanks to its friendly and cozy atmosphere representing the rich and traditional cuisine of the region. 4th Destination – Ronda Ibex (Days 10-12) The fourth and final destination takes place in the National Park of Tejeda, Almijara y Alhama in Southern Spain, in the region of Andalucia and Malaga where you will pursue Ronda Ibex. Ronda is the smallest of the four different types of ibex in Spain mainly differentiated by the scarcity of black spots on its coat. The hair is shorter, with a less abundant mane and less occipital width in the cranium. The horns grow upwards in a V shape and then backward with a 90 degree spiral twist. You will arrive in Málaga and be transferred to the Hotel La Viñuela & Spa, one of the most well-known hotels in the area and located in one of the most beautiful natural areas of Andalucia. This picturesque village is only 15 minutes from the coast and near the National Park. Seafood cuisine is exquisite in this region, with inland dishes of veal in garlic and fried goat paired with delicious wines of the region as well. Wines with the denomination of origin “Málaga” made using grapes of the variety “Pedro Ximénez” and “Moscatel”. These wines clearly show a Mediterranean nature, sweet and velvety. This hunt is for bronze medal ibex. 21% VAT Tax is included and NOT the responsibility of the hunter. Airfare & gratuities not included. *Reference for the hunt: Reno resident Jerry Scolari just returned from this same grand slam hunt with Antonio of IberHunting last year and had a great hunt with 100% success on all species. 2023 YUKON DALL SHEEP HUNT WITH MERVYN’S YUKON OUTFITTING
2023 YUKON DALL SHEEP HUNT WITH MERVYN’S YUKON OUTFITTING Hunt some of the best Dall sheep with one of the all-time great sheep guides, Tim Mervyn. This hunt will take place from July 30th to August 9th, 2023. This is a horseback hunt but could be changed to a backpack hunt at the request of the hunter. You will be the only hunter in camp and based out of a cabin with horses, a guide, and a wrangler. Spike-out hunting with pup tents is possible. Last year, harvest success was 100%. Hiking is required so hunters are encouraged to be in reasonable shape. The Area Located in Southwest Yukon outfitting concession #13 with 10,000 square miles of rolling and mountainous terrain with elevations up to 7,500 feet. This is open country and is generally dry and muskeg free, making for a noticeable lack of bugs and good horseback riding or hiking. Combined with alpine meadows and mountain basins, results in an ideal setting for hunting, fishing, and photography. This is a good area with a great sheep population. This area was the outdoor writer Jack O’Connor preferred location for hunting Dall sheep and most of his Dall hunting was done here in the late 1940’s through to the 1960’s. The Sheep The area is well known as an excellent producer of Dall Sheep. The sheep tend to be big bodied. Horns often have deep curls with heavy bases and carry their mass. Depending on circumstances it is possible to see large numbers of sheep in a single day. 40 inch rams are harvested on occasion. The average age varies between 9 to 10.5 years, but rams as old as 16 years have recently been taken. This area has the potential to produce fantastic rams. Trip Summary Plan to meet Tim or Jen Mervyn at the Whitehorse airport on July 28th or 29th. Driving to Whitehorse via the Alaska Highway is also an option, 1.5 hours from Skagway, AK. Hotel check-in, rifle check, and bush plane flight to hunt area on July 30th will be arranged for you. You will meet your guide, wrangler and cook in camp. July 31st is a scouting day and opening day is August 1st. Horses will be used to access the sheep that can often be seen from camp, however your guide will take you wherever he believes the hunting is best so spike camps are likely. Return flight to Whitehorse is August 9th. If successful early, you have the option to leave early if you choose, but early departure flight is not included. ABOUT MERVYN’S YUKON OUTFITTING Mervyn’s Yukon Outfitting is a family owned and operated operation by Tim & Jen Mervyn, and their family, and one of the most renowned sheep hunting outfitters in the Yukon. Tim and Jen come from a ranching background and live in the Yukon yearround, allowing them to manage and monitor the guiding territory. They have been outfitting in the area since 1996. This year will be Tim’s 40th year in the business and will be Tim and Jen’s 27th year outfitting in the area. Additional Details The hunt does not include the following: • Airfare to Whitehorse • Bush flight of $1,500 • Licenses $200 US and government trophy fee on sheep $200 US • Gratuities for guide and wrangler. Grizzly may be harvested for $12,500 harvest fee, plus $400 government trophy fee and 5% tax. Black bear, wolf and wolverine are included at no cost. Non-hunters allowed for $6,500 plus 5% tax and $1,500 flying fee. Hunts cannot be delayed. Donated by Mervyn Yukon Outfitting, Tim Mervyn

NEVADA WILDLIFE HERITAGE TAG: DESERT BIGHORN SHEEP
2023 NEVADA HERITAGE TAG AUCTION DESERT (NELSON) BIGHORN SHEEP WILDLIFE HERITAGE TAG Dates: July 1 - December 31, 2023 except for units involving Department of Defense Lands (Units 252, and 280 – 282, and those portions of Unit 181 on the Naval Air Station) which may only be hunted during their season dates set by the Nevada Board of Wildlife Commissioners. Species: Nelson (Desert) Bighorn Weapon: Any legal weapon may be used throughout the season Area: All hunt units assigned a desert bighorn sheep season in 2023 will initially be open to Heritage tagholders. The Heritage tagholder will be notified of any units that reach their maximum ram harvest allowed by specialty tagholders per Commission regulation (CR 22-05) Nevada has 314 mountain ranges, more than any other lower 48 state, and more desert bighorn sheep than any other jurisdiction in North America. Through the vision of wildlife biologists and passionate support from sportsmen, bighorn sheep restoration efforts have helped increase Nevada’s desert bighorn population from its low of 2,500 in 1960 to over 8,000! Though total bighorn numbers have been depressed in recent years, there are still great rams to be found across the state. There is more demand than ever for desert bighorn hunting in Nevada, reflected by the over 30,000 residents and nonresidents applying for 277 draw tags in 2022. The 2022 season saw a reduced total ram harvest of 231 rams but average age of 6.8 was one of the highest on record. There were only 7 rams in 2022 that were 170+ B&C but they were from 6 different hunt units with the largest scoring unofficially 180 5/8. A few rams had 16” bases with the longest horn measuring 41 2/8. NBU is again thrilled to offer this highly coveted Desert Bighorn Heritage Tag. This hunt will be subject to a 3% surcharge if paid by credit card.
