LA #23 Alaskan Gray Wolf Pelt Rug Up for auction is an authentic Alaskan Gray Wolf pelt professionally attached to a Green felt backing. This rug was generously donated to DSCNM by an estate here in New Mexico. They asked to remain anonymous, but wanted to make a donation as they felt that the original hunter that had taken this wolf in the late 1990’s would want his memories preserved of his wolf hunt in a way that benefit the youth of New Mexico. Thus the proceeds from this Wolf Rug will go directly to aid Youth programs funded by DSCNM. DSCNM has committed to the estate that we will report back to them as to the benefits that the proceeds have produced. The rug is in good shape but does have some areas that show it’s age and being stored in a box for the last 5 years. The hair shows no sign of rub spots; the ears are intact as are all the teeth. Upon inspection we found one area that is the size of silver dollar that the hide had separated from the felt and had broken, and shows that a small piece may be missing, this is shown up close in the 10th photo we also found two claws missing. None of the items we found affect the overall aesthetic appearance of the rug. The rug is large measuring 72inches from nose to tip of tail and 65inches wide The mostly brown with black highlights makes for a great looking rug and will make a great addition to anyone’s game room.
