Kyrgyzsytan or Tajikistan Mid-Asian Ibex Hunt
Asian Mountain Outfitters offers a unique and adventurous mountain hunting experience for Mid-Asian ibex in either Kyrgyzstan or Tajikistan. This rifle hunt is not a North American hunt. Hunters need to be prepared for cultural and language differences, long range and sometimes quick shooting (proficient at 500+ yards). The climates are similar to the high & dry areas of CO, NM and NV. Hunters have the option of shooting a second Ibex at $5000 US, Roe Buck (Kyrgyz) or Wild Boar (Tajik) on a trophy fee basis. This Ibex hunt includes 5-7 hunting days, depending on the area; it requires a hunter to be relatively fit and experienced in mountain hunting. Typical Ibex size ranges from 38 - 47”, and an average Ibex is about 42-43”. Ibex under 38” and over 47” are rare, but ibex over 47”is possible in some areas, for very fit and tough hunters willing to spike out in often harsh conditions. A second hunter can join for $8000 US. We hunt many areas for Ibex; some areas have bigger Ibex than others, and some have easier hunting/access with nice camps; our goal is to match the client/area to suit better their abilities and goals. If a hunter prefers to do a non-horseback hunt (using pack donkeys and foot/jeep hunting), this hunt can be done in Tajikistan. The drive to the hunt camps ranges from 3 to 14 hours. The most common hunt dates are Sept. and Oct., but the season runs from August 15th thru Dec. 1st in Kyrgyzstan and Sept. 1st through Feb. 28th in Tajikistan. The hunt is to be taken during the 2018 season, but arrangements can be made to postpone hunt until 2019 (with approval from Asian Mountain Outfitters; and if Govt. fees increase, hunters pay this increase). All hunting licenses and fees are included in the hunt. The hunter is responsible for the following costs: flight to and from Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan or Dushanbe, Tajikistan via Turkish Air/Istanbul, airport VIP service, meals and lodging while in Bishkek or Dushanbe (usually 2-3 nights), extra baggage fees for taking home skin/skull or shipping of trophies home and staff tips (clients will be provided with tip suggestions). Hunters can sometimes take the trophy(s) home in checked luggage if skins are dried enough, but many of our hunters decide to have them shipped via DHL, Fed Ex or Turkish Air Freight and cleared, using a Wildlife import broker. Asian Mountain Outfitters works with partners in several different hunting areas: the Naryn and Issyk-Kul Regions of Kyrgyzstan and two different regions of Tajik. Our manager/interpreter/partners will meet clients at the airport and assist in all aspects of the hunts. The best local guides typically do not speak English but are skilled hunters and horsemen. If it is your first trip to Central Asia, we can arrange a Western/English speaking guide to accompany you (price is a minimum of $5000 US plus all their travel and trip expenses). Hunters who elect to hunt with just the local guides need to be able to assist in trophy judging & oversee skin preparations. The best attitude is to go prepared as if it is a self-guided hunt, combined with local guides. This hunt can be upgraded to a Hume Argali in Kyrgyzstan or a Marco Polo in Tajikistan. Bryan Martin, the founder of Asian Mountain Outfitters, has conducted seminars at various conventions about equipment, shooting and what should be expected on such hunts. He has outfitted in Canada since 1999 and in Central Asia since 2002 and has personally been on many successful Marco Polo/Ibex hunts, spending over three months each year in Central Asia, to ensure that AMO is very knowledgeable regarding all aspects of the hunts. Make sure to check out the Asian Mountain Outfitters website for additional information on this hunt and many others they offer in Tajikistan, Mongolia, Azerbaijan, Nepal, Pakistan, Turkey, Russia, Spain, Canada and Romania. For more information, please contact Bryan Martin at Asian Mountain Outfitters, 250-317-5525 or via email at bryankmartin@gmail.com or his office manager Lynzy at asianmountainoutfitters@gmail.com. We thank Bryan for this generous donation.
Limpopo - 7 Days Rifle, 2 Hunters & 2 Giraffes - Monkane Safaris
Kerneels Viljoen of Monkane Safaris in the Limpopo has generously donated hunts to SCI Calgary in the past and again for our 2018 fundraiser. This hunt is a rifle or bow hunting trip for two hunters over seven hunting days with one giraffe for each hunter. Monkane is located just under three hours NW from Johannesburg by road and has access to about 140,000 acres. Part of the area has mountains, but the majority is bushveld. This item entitles the purchaser to a great seven-day hunting experience for plains game. The two travel days are outside of the seven-day hunt. Kerneels is also a bow hunter and so will be able to show the hunters a great African experience. There is the option to hunt either from a pit or elevated blinds or by spot and stalk. With the blinds, the shots are usually 16 to 25 yards and are over either water holes or feed. The hunt includes the trophy fees for a giraffe for each hunter. Also, included in the package is accommodation, meals/wine, 2x1 PH, tracker, field prep of trophies, and transport of the trophies to either a taxidermist or a dip/pack company. If you are planning to add other game, Kerneels will put together for you a package deal better than that of individual animals from his very reasonable price list. Extra days are at the daily rate of $250 US per person (2x1), and $250 US per person for observers, plus VAT, and additional hunters are at the same rate. Other costs incurred by the hunter are $150 US/person plus VAT for each travel day which includes transportation either way from or to OR Tambo International airport in Johannesburg, gratuities, taxidermy, dip and pack, shipping charges, and air travel to and from South Africa. The successful bidder is asked to confirm dates with Kerneels and to place a $500 US per person deposit to hold the dates. This deposit will be credited to your account to cover transportation and other animal costs. The hunt is available in either 2018 or 2019. The purchaser has the opportunity to add a Cape buffalo (up to 40”) for the trophy fee of $9900 US. The hunting days are part of the donation, and so no additional day rate is required. This donation is given in good faith to SCI, Calgary Chapter to help support their worthy cause. With this in mind, Monkane Safaris do not allow two donation hunts back to back or at the same time by the same group. For more information and to schedule a hunt, contact Kerneels at +27 73 132 7914 or email info@monkanesafaris.co.za. The website is https://www.monkanesafaris.co.za/. We thank Kerneels and Monkane Safaris for their continued support of SCI Calgary
Blue Sky Outfitting – Alberta Free Range Bison Hunt
Kevin and Patti McNeil of Blue Sky Outfitters have generously donated a Northern Alberta free range bison hunt for one person for May 2019 only. This hunt is one of the premier hunts available in Alberta, and it doesn’t require a tag and is open to either Alberta residents or non-residents, but does require an Alberta Hunting license. Blue Sky Outfitters is one of Alberta’s finest outfitters, based out of McLennan, Alberta about 550 km NW of Calgary. They also offer both resident and non-resident moose hunts, resident whitetail hunts, world-class float plane fly-in fishing on the pristine waters of Aylmer Lake, NWT, and waterfowl hunting. The donation includes six days of hunting and can be either from stand or spot and stalk, using your choice of bow, rifle or muzzleloader. The donation includes lodging, food, guides and field trophy handling. You will be responsible for your transportation to and from the pickup spot, before and after trip expenses, alcohol beverages, cancellation insurance, all taxidermy/meat processing and gratuities. Given the remoteness, the need for riding quads, and the long days, you will need to be in good physical condition. Famous hunters such as Craig Boddington have hunted with Kevin on this hunt. If instead, you want to hunt during winter to get that higher quality cape, there is an additional $4000 CDN plus GST, payable to Kevin for the additional equipment and costs. Additional hunters are $10,000 US plus 5% GST, and the trip can also be extended at the cost of $1600 US per day plus 5% GST on top. Black bear or wolf can also be added, and tips are extra. This hunt takes place in the NE quadrant of Alberta on public land, and Kevin has worked hard to find the bison, and many local Albertans want to find out his locations. To protect this knowledge, the hunter will have to sign a non-disclosure agreement with a million dollar penalty payable to Kevin if you disclose the locations in any way including social media. It is recommended for you to leave at home or his lodge your GPS, cell phone and cameras if they have a built-in GPS to eliminate any temptation. The pickup spot will be disclosed after you have signed the non-disclosure agreement. Look at this as a hunt of a lifetime knowing what it costs Kevin, and please don’t bid if you aren’t willing to sign the agreement. For more information, or to discuss equipment and the non-disclosure agreement contact Kevin at (780)536-7290 or Email info@blueskyoutfitting.com. Their website is www.blueskyoutfitting.com or www.aylmerlakelodge.com. We thank Kevin and Patti for this great hunt and their continued support of SCI Calgary.

Kyrgyzstan Hume Argali Hunt
Asian Mountain Outfitters offers a unique and adventurous mountain hunting experience in Kyrgyzstan, for one of most incredible mountain sheep in the world, the majestic Hume Argali, a subspecies of the Marco Polo sheep. The rifle hunt date will be Oct. or Nov. 2018; it is approximately 7-8 days of hunting, plus travel. Arrangements can be made to postpone hunt until 2019 (with approval from Asian Mountain Outfitters, and if Govt. fees increase, hunters pay this increase). This hunt is conducted on horseback/foot at 11,000-13,500’. The drive to hunting camp is 8 to 13 hours, depending on weather and camp location. This hunt is not a North American Hunt; hunters need to be prepared for cultural/language differences, long range and sometimes quick shooting (proficient at 500+ yards). The climate is similar to the high & dry areas of CO, NM and NV. All Kyrgyzstan hunting licenses and fees are included. The hunter is responsible for the flight to and from Bishkek via Turkish Air/Istanbul, Airport VIP service, meals and lodging while in Bishkek (usually 2-3 nights), extra baggage fees for taking home skin/skull or shipping of trophies home and staff tips (clients will be provided with tip suggestions). The winning bidder will have their name submitted to the USFWS so that they will get USFWS CITES import permits. The U.S. CITES application with USFWS opens May 1st of each year and costs $100 US. Most of the hunting areas have a heated house or cabin, and if spiking out, the hunter will use backpack style tents. A non-hunting companion is welcome for $2,500 US. If hunt space is available for an additional hunter, on the same hunt, the price is $27,500 US for one Marco Polo. A Mid-Asian Ibex can be added to this hunt for an additional $5,000 US. Typical sizes for Marco Polo Rams are 47”-52” and Ibex range average 38”-46”. Considerably larger animals of both species have been taken. Hunters can sometimes take the trophy(s) home in checked luggage if skins are dried enough, but many of our hunters decide to have them shipped via DHL, Fed Ex or Turkish Air Freight and cleared, using a wildlife import broker. Asian Mountain Outfitters works with partners in several different hunting areas: both the Naryn and Issyk-Kul Regions and can also arrange Karalini (Tien Shan) for non-USA Hunters. Our Managers/partners will meet clients at the airport and assist in all aspects of the hunts. The best local guides typically do not speak English but are skilled hunters and horsemen. If it is your first trip to Central Asia, we can arrange a Western/English speaking guide to accompany you (price is a minimum of $5,000 US, plus all their travel and trip expenses). Hunters who elect to hunt with just the local guides need to be able to assist in trophy judging & oversee the skin preparations. The best attitude is to go prepared as if it is a self-guided hunt, combined with local guides. This hunt can be upgraded to a Tajikistan Marco Polo, with the hunters playing the difference in price between the two. Calgary – Original Artwork by Stefanna Spoletini
Stefanna has again provided a donation of an original piece of art, this year showcasing a sable. The original will be shown live at the dinner, and bidding will be both online and at the dinner. The picture of the bear was sold at the 2017 auction. A native to Calgary, Stefanna Spoletini has been active in the community throughout her life and is currently studying under Canadian artist, Loretta Secord. From a young age Stefanna has always excelled at sports and has applied the same amount of drive and dedication into everything she takes on. After graduating from Arizona State University with an undergraduate degree in Recreational Therapy, Stefanna moved back to Calgary to pursue her career and was eager to get involved and help others. After tirelessly looking for jobs in her field, Stefanna decided to switch gears and take on something a little different; she always knew she was creative but was unsure on how to channel it. She began attending art classes and with the help of Loretta, she slowly but surely is finding her voice – on the canvas. With each of Stefanna’s pieces varying in style, she has yet to adhere to a specific style and is determined to make each of her pieces original and authentic. Inspired by her strong connection to animals, Stefanna has become passionate about incorporating them in her pieces along with vibrant colours, and has gained interest in their juxtaposition. Stefanna is excited to grow as an artist and hopes to expand her knowledge and emerge herself in the wonderful world of art. This art piece is oil on canvas. The approximate size is 30 by 40". SCI Calgary thanks Stefanna for her generous donation of this original art piece. You can contact Stefanna by email at Stefanna.spoletini@gmail.com.

South Africa - Ultimate 10 Day Trip for Two Couples!
Rob Birch of Royal Karoo has put together the ultimate trip for two couples. It consists of six full days of rifle hunting, one full day of deep sea fishing, and three full days of touring the Garden Route from Port Elizabeth to Cape Town for a total of 11 days and 12 nights. It consists of everything from pickup at Port Elizabeth to spending the last night in Cape Town. This donation is all-inclusive and includes all transport, all accommodation, meals, table wine and sundowners, one PH (2x1), skinning and field preparation of trophies, local hunting license fees, and delivery of trophies to the taxidermist. Included in the package is a springbok grand slam of the four different subspecies, three other animals (1 kudu, 1 red hartebeest, 1 zebra), all to be shared between the two hunters. The trip is planned for 2018, but if the bidder wants to use it in 2019, Rob is asking that he be kept whole by the bidder for any increase from 2018 to 2019 in his external costs of hotels for the trip to Cape Town. Also, the fishing is outsourced to an experienced operator, so planning will be needed to ensure an open day with good weather. The lodge is close enough to the coast, and so the hunting schedule is easily adjusted to take account of the weather. Included in the day count is a day to transfer between the hunting lodge and the fishing area. It excludes air travel from North America to Port Elizabeth and return to North America from Cape Town, taxidermy costs, export of trophies to North America, and staff gratuities. The trip can be extended at $350 /day for hunters and $150/day for non-hunters. If the trip to Cape Town is to be extended, the cost would be $650/day/person, all in $CDN. There is also lots of plains game that can be added to the trip. Royal Karoo Safaris is situated in the mountain country of the Eastern Cape where the Great Karoo meets valley bushveld. It encompasses 25000 acres with 5 of the seven vegetation types found in South Africa, and with a terrain variation of 2500ft, making it a truly unique opportunity. Being such a large area, it truly is fair chase, where hunting is proper and hard, but very rewarding and enjoyable. This location results in the highest population density of Eastern Cape kudu in South Africa, so offering excellent walk and stalk hunting in this challenging setting. A wide variety of plains and bushveld game species are offered in their natural habitat with the region being rated as having the best kudu hunting in Africa. For more information, please contact Rob Birch at Royal Karoo at info@royalkarro.co.za, or visit their website at http://www.royalkaroo.co.za/. Also, Rob can be contacted on his cell at +27 82 496 4398. We thank Rob and Royal Karoo Safaris for this great hunt and their continued support of SCI Calgary.

SA Kalahari – Two Choices - Nyala, Tsessebe, or Red Lechwe, and Kudu, Waterbuck or Eland
Bert Meyers of De Duine Safaris has put together another great donation with some options ideal for two hunters over five days of hunting and two travel days. The hunters make a choice of the two animals they want to pursue. The choices are one animal from the first group of a nyala, tsessebe or red lechwe, and one animal from the second group of a waterbuck, eland or a kudu between 50” and 55”. These choices provide flexibility, and so if you want other animals in addition to the two choices, please plan to add them to your hunt. When you plan your hunt with Bert, please tell him your choices. De Duine is located in the South African portion of the Kalahari Desert. The trip may be taken during any open dates available during 2018 or 2019. Bert will pick you at the Kimberly airport, and will find yourself being part of the family before he drops you back off! Also, included in the package is 5 days of hunting (2x1), accommodation/meals/drinks within reason, field prep of trophies and transportation to taxidermist 120 km away, PH/skinner and ground transportation from and to the Kimberley airport. The donation also includes the ability to extend the trip at the reduced price of $200 US/day and each non-hunter at $ 120 US/day. To not leave anyone out, other hunters can be added for the same $200 US/day.
