Bill was awarded a scholarship to the Los Angeles Art Center College of Design where he studied for two years. After this he was involved in aerospace design as well as commercial and technical illustrations. Bill eventually left the commercial art world to pursue his true passion, painting Western themed landscapes and wildlife. He generated a large body of work that is in collections worldwide and in several national museums. Bill has been in the Southwest Art Magazine, Nevada Magazine and has been honored with the Nevada Ducks Unlimited Artist of the Year in 1989 and was chosen for Idaho's 1999 Game Stamp and 1994-95 Duck Stamp.

A Swiss-born painter and graphic artist, Paul Klee was born on December 18, 1879, in Munchenbuchsee, Switzerland, into a family of musicians. His personal, often gently humorous works are filled with allusions to dreams, music, and poetry, and are difficult to classify. Primitive art, surrealism, cubism, and children's art all seem blended into his small-scale, delicate paintings, watercolors, and drawings. Klee grew up in a musical family and was himself a violinist. His childhood love of music was always to remain important in his life and work. From 1898 to 1901, Klee studied in Munich, first with Heinrich Knirr, then at the Kunstakademie under Franz von Stuck. Upon completing his schooling, he traveled to Italy in the first of a series of trips abroad that nourished his visual sensibilities. While in Italy (1901-02), he responded enthusiastically to Early Christian and Byzantine art. He settled in Bern in 1902. Klee's early works are mostly etchings and pen-and-ink drawings. These combine satirical, grotesque, and surreal elements, and some reveal the influence of Francisco de Goya and James Ensor, both of whom Klee admired. Two of his best-known etchings, dating from 1903, are 'Virgin in a Tree' and 'Two Men Meet, Each Believing the Other to Be of Higher Rank'. Such peculiar, evocative titles are characteristic of Klee, and give his works an added dimension of meaning. After his marriage in 1906 to the pianist Lili Stumpf, Klee settled in Munich, then an important center for avant-garde art. That same year he exhibited his etchings for the first time. His friendship with the painters Wassily Kandinsky and August Macke prompted him to join Der Blaue Reiter (The Blue Rider), an expressionist group that contributed much to the development of abstract art. A turning point in Klee's career was his visit to Tunisia with Macke and Louis Molliet in 1914. He was so overwhelmed by the intense light there that he wrote: "Color has taken possession of me; no longer do I have to chase after it, I know that it has hold of me forever. That is the significance of this blessed moment. Color and I are one. I am a painter". In 1920, a major Klee retrospective was held at the Galerie Hans Goltz, Munich; his Schöpferische Konfession was published; he was also appointed to the faculty of the Bauhaus. Klee taught at the Bauhaus in Weimar from 1921 to 1926 and in Dessau from 1926 to 1931. During his tenure, he was in close contact with other Bauhaus masters, such as Kandinsky and Lyonel Feininger. In 1924, the Blaue Vier, consisting of Lyonel Feininger, Jawlensky, Kandinsky, and Klee, was founded. Among his notable exhibitions of this period were his first in the United States at the Société Anonyme, New York, in 1924; his first major show in Paris the following year at the Galerie Vavin-Raspail; and an exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art, New York, in 1930. Klee went to Düsseldorf to teach at the Akademie in 1931, shortly before the Nazis closed the Bauhaus. Forced by the Nazis to leave his position in Düsseldorf in 1933, Klee settled in Bern the following year. Seventeen of his works were included in the Nazi exhibition of "degenerate art," Entartete Kunst, in 1937. Major Klee exhibitions took place in Bern and Basel in 1935 and in Zurich in 1940. 36th National Encampment at Washington DC. The canteen has a copper color emblem on each side. One side identifies the organization event commemorating the American Civil War reading, "18861-1865 We Drank From the Same Canteen" and the opposite side has the G.A.R. logo, "Charity, Loyalty, Fraternity". The G.A.R. was a Military fraternal organization composed of Civil War Veterans of the United States Union Army, Union Navy and Marines who served in the Civil War for the Northern/Federal Forces from 1861-1865. This is in excellent preserved condition and a first rate classic collectors memorabilia piece of American history.

"Reflections" signed lower right. Image measures 19 1/4"x15 1/4" in gold wood frame. Charles Bergstrom was born on January 26, 1879 in Strandebarm Parish, Hordaland, Norway. His parents, August and Maria Bergstrom, had come from Sweden for a few years while August worked in the iron mines of Norway. In 1881 he, his sister Anna, and his parents came to America. In 1884 the family returned to Chicago and then settled in La Grange, Illinois in 1900. He took art lessons from the Art Institute in Chicago. Charles Bergstrom first worked as a bookkeeper for the Malleable Casting Works Company in Chicago and then became a commercial artist before becoming a free-lance artist in 1931. He was a New Deal/WPA artist and then worked for the Chicago & North Western Railroad doing advertising material and presenting "Chalk Talks" at travel expositions in Omaha, Detroit, Indianapolis, Cincinnati, and Chicago. Charles Bergsrtom painted permanent murals in the Chicago & North Western and the La Salle Street train stations and did a mural in the Fair Store. He taught art classes and lectured extensively in the Chicago area including the Municipal Art League of Chicago. He and his family lived in La Grange, Illinois, 1902-1937. Known as C. J, Bergstrom was the 2nd president of the La Grange Art League from 1934-1935. He then moved to Furnessville, Indiana near Chesterton and Michigan City, Indiana in 1941, where he had an art studio and he continued to teach art lessons in the area.

John Clymer was strongly influenced by N.C. Wyeth in illustration and became a noted painter of animals and western history.  His first illustrations were for Canadian publications, and then he illustrated for pulp magazines and novels, which led to assignments with American magazines and advertising companies.  He did a series of historic paintings about the United States Marine Corps during World War II.  His illustration career continued for over forty years and included work for Field and Stream and Saturday Evening Post for which he did about ninety covers.  Also, he illustrated the book, The Yearling.

Joe Grandee was born as a third generation Texan in Dallas during 1929. He studied at the Aunspaugh Art School in Dallas during 1947. From 1965 to 1991, he was active as a sculptor, illustrator, and painter of portraits, military scenes, and the history of the West. He has been cited for historically accurate depictions of the Dragoons and Cavalrymen of the US Army. In 1974, he was honored with a one man retrospective in the US Capitol. Additionally, he served for one year as the "Official State Artist of Texas" - an appointment by the Texas Legislature. His work has been exhibited by the White House, Lyndon Baines Johnson Collection ,the Harmsen Collection of Western Art , and the National Cowboy Hall of Fame [Oklahoma City]. His original works are rare and valuable.

David Dunlop has been a faculty member at the Silvermine School of Art in Norwalk, Connecticut since 1993 and serves currently on their board of directors. His work is nationally known and featured in many prominent collections throughout the country. He uses painting techniques dating back to the old masters of the Renaissance, frequently employing a 14th century method of painting on gold leaf. He has created a selection of instructional DVDs on the topic of acrylic, watercolor and oil painting.  Dunlop is also working with PBS on a pilot project offering art history and instruction. He has lectured at several museums and conducted plein-air workshops.

Shotgun exhibits approximately 97% of it's original finish showing a few light scratches and some white paint transfer. Action is smooth, bore appears excellent but dirty and wood stocks are near fine with wear on the inside of the pistol grip & some spots of dried liquid. David Dunlop artist entitled "Path with Dark Tree". Image size 30"x24" with double white mat and pewter frame. David Dunlop has been a faculty member at the Silvermine School of Art in Norwalk, Connecticut since 1993 and serves currently on their board of directors. His work is nationally known and featured in many prominent collections throughout the country. He uses painting techniques dating back to the old masters of the Renaissance, frequently employing a 14th century method of painting on gold leaf. He has created a selection of instructional DVDs on the topic of acrylic, watercolor and oil painting.  Dunlop is also working with PBS on a pilot project offering art history and instruction. He has lectured at several museums and conducted plein-air workshops.

Linda Lee's artwork reveals no brush strokes as she works with different palette knives as each lends its own qualities to her work. All of her training was done by her mother in law Florence Sackett. Her paintings sell very well in California and Sedona and she has won many awards.

Tim Cox was honored with one of the most prestigious awards in the world of western art June 14th at the Cowboy Hall of Fame in Oklahoma City. The National Academy of Western Art chose Cox's painting, "On to Better Pastures", for the coveted Prix de West Purchase Award. Cox's was the judge's favorite of the almost 300 paintings at the 2003 Prix de West Show, which featured the works of ninety-two highly acclaimed artists. The $20,000 oil was purchased by the hall to be part of the museum's permanent collection.

Artist Martin Grelle "Callin It a Day", 23/75 signed lower left. Measures 24"x16" unframed. Certificate of Authenticity included. Born in Clifton, Texas, Martin Grelle was inspired by the flavor of the small town and its people, Grelle began to paint at an early age,Working in a variety of media, but particularly with oils, Martin characteristically paints with a moderate amount of detail, striving to emphasize color and texture as a means of creating a visual image. He most enjoys dramatic light and shadow effects, but he is equally at home painting the effects of rain and fog. Grelle strives continuously to achieve a level of excellence in his work; "I believe you have to set your sights high to be successful." As the 2002 winner of the Prix de West Award from the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Center in Oklahoma City, it seems that Grelle knows what he's talking about.

Beautiful pair of brass candlesticks with a column design, one has hook for matching brass snuffer measure 9"x3 3/8". Metal urns have a floral and bird motif and one has lid, both measure 9"x4".

"Nighthawk" 306/999, signature lower right. Image measures 25"x21" in textured mat with wood frame. Olaf Wieghorst arrived in the U.S. in 1918, joining the U.S. Cavalry, & patrolled the Mexico border in New Mexico & Arizona . When he mustered out of the army, he drifted, ending up as a wrangler on the Cunningham Ranch near Alma, New Mexico. By the mid-twenties, Wieghorst was in New York City, working as a mounted policeman - his relationships with the many horses that were a part of his life became the common denominator of his paintings. Living in California by the end of WWII, he began a career that spiraled to success, in part due to his engaging personality. His paintings have appeared in numerous solo & retrospective exhibitions including the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum, Oklahoma City (1974), The Tucson Museum of Art, Arizona (1981), & the San Diego Historical Society, California (2002).

John Loker artist entitled "Shift's Gate" 25/50, hand signed in pencil lower right dated 1978. Image measures 18 1/2"x15 1/4" in a whitewashed wood frame. John Loker is a contemporary British abstract painter based in East Anglia and represented by Flowers Gallery, London and New York. Loker has numerous artworks in public and private collections, and has exhibited in some of the UK's major institutions since the 1970s.

He trained and excelled at both the Chicago American Academy of Art and the Los Angeles Art Center College of Design. In 1979, Thomas moved to Sedona, AZ where he lived and worked for 36 years. He was very successful as an artist, and some of his work may be seen online.

Rifle retains approximately 75% of it's original finish showing light wear and a small amount of scattered light surface rust on the barrel & magazine tube while the black finished receiver shows heavy handling wear. All matching serial numbers. Revolver exhibits approximately 87% of it's blued refinish which is splotchy is some areas and shows a small amount of scattered light emerging surface rust & some minor imperfections in the metal under the finish. Antique small frame single-action spur trigger revolver chambered in .22 Short, circa 1860-1868. Features a blued/silver plated finish, 3.2" ribbed octagonal barrel, round blade front sight, notched rear sight, seven-shot non-fluted cylinder, smooth spur trigger, checkered hammer spur, manual ejector rod and two-piece rosewood grips. The right grip is serial numbered to the gun. Revolver shows little remaining finish on the barrel & cylinder showing light scattered pin prick pitting and a light grey patina. The frame shows approximately 40% of it's thinned silver finish which has turned to an age darkened patina on the backstrap and butt. Action is sound with solid lock-up, markings are good, bore is good with some dark pitting and wood grips are very good. Condition is fine. ***Antique Firearm***

SN: 878644 'K-200' Vintage medium frame double-action revolver chambered in .38/200, circa 1940-1945. Approximately 568,204 of these revolvers were produced for Britain under the Lend-Lease Act. Features a black magic finish, 5" pinned barrel with forged round blade front sight, square notched rear sight, non-shrouded ejector rod, fluted six-shot cylinder, .265" service trigger, .265" service hammer, no lanyard ring, square butt K frame and one-piece Pachmayr Gripper checkered black rubber finger groove grips. Any marking that would confirm this revolver as a British Service Revolver have been removed and the serial number was retrieved from the underside of the barrel. Revolver exhibits little remaining finish with some scattered pin prick pitting and a browning patina. The town, shaped by tidal creeks, rivers, marshes and the Atlantic Ocean evoke in him a spirit of a by gone era that has greatly influenced him and his appreciation and awareness of the world that surrounds him. "I don't like to do subject matter that has been done a thousand times before.I like to focus on individuals ,what they were feeling or thinking....." Mr. Graham tries to capture the moment right before or after and event. It is in this moment of contemplation and reflection that Mr. Graham finds his subject matter.

Known for miniature portraits, floral paintings in pastel on ivory and watercolor, as well as oil and pastel landscapes, Laura Coombs Hills was a key person in the revival of miniature painting in America. In 1904, she was awarded a Gold Medal for her miniatures at the St. Louis Exposition, and in 1916, she earned the first Medal of Honor ever given by the Pennsylvania Society of Miniature Painters. She briefly studied at the Cowles Art School in Boston, the New York Art Students League, and with Helen Knowlton, but was described as "comparatively self-taught." Her style was called miniature portraiture, something she learned in England in 1893 when she saw examples there.

Turn of the century wood handle Jambia with brass end. Curved blade has makers mark and shows use and age. Blade measures 8 3/4" approx. 14 7/8" overall. Metal scabbard is ornately engraved with Middle Eastern designs.

All black lacquer wardrobe with three separate compartments. The front is mother of pearl and shell inlaid with a bird and floral motif.
