SPECIAL SPONSORS EDITION "CIC Caprinae Atlas of the World"
CIC - INTERNATIONAL COUNCIL FOR GAME AND WILDLIFE CONSERVATION - GERHARD DAMM: This exclusive leather bound Sponsors’ Edition of the Caprinae Atlas is one of only fifteen handcrafted and cased sets. Beautiful to behold and unique, it will be the center piece of any library and the purchaser will be in royal company! On September 19th the authors Gerhard Damm and Nicolas Franco, both Life Members of WSF, presented the #1 set to His Majesty, King Juan Carlos I of Spain at the Zarzuela Palace. His Majesty, who also wrote the Prologue to the Atlas, was extremely pleased with this “Magnificent Book”. The two-volume CIC Caprinae Atlas of the World describes 96 Caprinae phenotypes, contains 130 detailed, full color distribution maps and more than 1,000 color photos from the wild and from collections of important museums in North America and Europe. The monumental work highlights the importance of science in connection with sustainable hunting and achieves the all-important conservation connection of field research, effective management, community involvement and sustainable hunting. Bodo Meier, a well-known German aquarellist, was specially commissioned to illustrate the dust covers of the standard edition of the CIC Caprinae Atlas of the World with a watercolor painting of a Pamir Argali group and a group of magnificent Kashmir markhor. The paintings are also lithographed as frontispieces in the Collectors’ and Sponsors’ edition of the Caprinae Atlas. DALLAS SAFARI CLUB THANKS GERHARD DAMM FOR THIS 100% DONATION. Dallas Safari Club "Conservation 2016"

Collaborative Artwork - "Out on a Limb" Bronze by John Lewton and an Original Acrylic on Canvas by J
MCGUIRE & HINES STUDIOS: Long-time DSC supporter, Life Member and exhibitor - Internationally Collected - Jan Martin McGuire - artist, naturalist and conservationist - is pleased to partner for the first-time with sculptor John Lewton to present this unique and exciting collaborative bronze and acrylic work for auction. Lewton, well-known in the wild goat and sheep hunting industry, has guided and participated in hunts all over the world. He is also a taxidermist which gives him incredible insight into the anatomy and behavior of these animals. Jan and her husband James Gary Hines II - nature photographer - have invited Lewton to exhibit with them at their booth this year as a guest sculptor. Jan likes to paint what she has experienced herself. However, when it is a subject she has not seen in the wild, she will do extensive research, anywhere from conferring with scientists, to having in-depth conversations with hunters and looking at their photos/video footage. The painting portrayed in this montage is an example of artwork commissioned by Corey Knowlton. Jan worked closely with him, reviewing videos and studying the body structure and coloration of a Sindh Ibex. She obtained this same sculpture from Lewton and it is the favorite in her collection of bronzes. The form and beauty of the sculpture inspired Jan to create a painting exclusively to go with this collaboration. It will be an acrylic on canvas and will come beautifully museum-framed ready to hang. UPDATE: Note that the painting for this auction item is not yet complete. The artist will finish it for the winning bidder and will arrange delivery directly after Convention. DALLAS SAFARI CLUB THANKS MCGUIRE & HINES STUDIOS AND JOHN LEWTON FOR THIS 100% DONATION. "Battle" - Original Acrylic and Gesso on Masonite Board by DSC's 2016 ARTIST OF THE YEAR Laurel Barb
2016 DSC ARTIST OF THE YEAR, LAUREL BARBIERI, is pleased to present this fascinating work of art for auction in support of DSC. The beauty and mystery of ancient cave paintings is captured in primitive, yet contemporary, acrylic paint and gesso on Masonite board in "Battle", an original Relief Sculpture. The Relief Sculpture process originated by the artist used to create "Battle", results in a powerful multi-dimensional work that pulsates with color and depth. In this piece, Barbieri depicts the battle-worn bull elk's exhaustion and elation having survived another rutting season. This painting reflects the artist's close connection to the land, a result of her childhood years growing up in simple circumstances in the rugged Olympic Mountains of western Washington State. This affinity was further developed by her hunting and exploring adventures as an adult. Barbieri's art is filled with organic shapes, heavy textures, brilliant colors, movement, and emotion. Each relief-sculptured painting is unique and you will never find another art work like "Battle". This beautifully-framed piece measures 65"x35". DALLAS SAFARI CLUB THANKS LAUREL BARBIERI STUDIOS FOR THIS 100% DONATION.

"Close Up" - Original Elephant Painting By African Wildlife Artist Dawie Fourie
DAWIE FOURIE: "Close Up" - Original oil on cotton canvas done in 'Impressionistic-Realism' style by African wildlife artist Dawie Fourie. This painting is large, at more than 6ft high and 9ft wide, and depicts an African elephant in a fully blown head-on charge. The ears are wide spread with dust flying - the trunk starting to curl forward, reaching for the enemy. The right tusk is magnificent, probably in the 80lbs+ class. The left tusk is broken...perhaps reflecting the "feisty character" of the owner - ready to fight or defend. Unlike the mock charge, this is a situation that calls for decisive action... either stand your ground or RUN! Dawie Fourie, dawiefouriearts@gmail.com
