"Nemesis" Leopard and Baboon Bronze by John Tolmay
Generously donated by TOLMAY - BRONZE AFRICA: "Nemesis" leopard and baboon bronze by John Tolmay, #17. Measures 8"W x 9.5"H x 21"L and weighs 29lbs. This fascinating sculpture was inspired by a photograph Tolmay saw many years ago. The artist recalls, "Of course it is impossible to emulate that picture in a bronze, but if I close my eyes after seeing that image many years ago this is what I see...seconds from death, what choice did the primate have but to turn and try to frighten his adversary away. I am sure that his gallant effort was to no avail." Dallas Safari Club thanks Tolmay - Bronze Africa for this 100% donation. "Red River Bull" Original Acrylic on Masonite by Laurel Barbieri
Generously donated by LAUREL BARBIERI STUDIOS: The beauty and mystery of ancient cave paintings is captured in acrylic and gesso on masonite in "Red River Bull", an original relief sculpture donated by international artist Laurel Barbieri. The relief sculpture process that the artist originated and used to create this piece, results in a powerful multi-dimensional work that pulsates with color and depth. This painting reflects Barbieri's close connection to the land, a result of her childhood years growing up in simple circumstances in the rugged Olympic Mountains of western Washington State. This affinity was further developed by her hunting and exploring adventures as an adult. Barbieri's art is filled with organic shapes, heavy textures, brilliant colors, movement and emotion. Each relief-sculptured painting is unique; you will never find another art work like "Red River Bull". This beautifully framed piece measures 53" x 41". Blaser R8 Custom Imperial "The Stare Down" in .416 Remington Magnum
Generously donated by BLASER USA, INC: Legendary hunts require legendary rifles. Since 1957 Blaser GmbH has helped experienced hunters prepared themselves for Africa as they dreamed of hunting "The Dark Continent". These seasoned hunters demanded the best in order to confidently face the brutal continent and the dangerous game that waited. Blaser continues to carry on the tradition of excellence all the while answering to the needs of today's world wide hunters. We understand the value of versatility in the field and use a modular concept in response. This modular system enables the hunter to interchange calibers to face the quarry at hand. By simply changing the bolt head, barrel and magazine, using only one hex key, the hunter has now easily adapted to the pursuit. Blaser USA proudly donates the striking R8 Custom Imperial "The Stare Down". Stunning bulino and deep relief engraving depict classic scenes of Africa. Cape buffalo and cattle egrets, lions and zebra flank the sides of the receiver and the elusive leopard highlights the removable trigger and magazine housing. The elephant pistol grip cap is styled after the DSC logo and has a level of detail that must be seen to be appreciated. Elegant grade 9 Turkish walnut was hand-selected to complete this masterpiece. This modern classic is chambered in .416 Remington Magnum and is presented to you with an additional .300 Winchester Magnum barrel to satisfy all of your safari needs. 5-Day Whitetail Hunt for Two Hunters in Wisconsin - Includes Trophy Fees
Generously donated by WILDERNESS WHITETAIL: If a magnificent trophy whitetail is on your lifetime bucket list, then Wilderness Whitetails (W.W.) can help you fulfill that dream. W.W. hunters have held 9 of the top 10 non-typical records and 4 of the top 10 typical records at one time or another in recent years. This incredible 2015 whitetail deer hunt, generously donated by owners Shorty and Greg Flees, is a 5-day hunt adventure for two hunters in the northern woods of Wisconsin. Included are trophy fees for 2x whitetail bucks up to 200" each (one each hunter), 1x1 guide, all ground transportation, lodging, home-cooked meals, trophy preparation and trophy packing. This hunt may be upgraded to include larger deer at current rates. W.W. is known for their massive, huge bodied whitetails...some of which not only carry 350" to 490" plus antlers, but tip the scales at over 400 lbs! These are BIG deer in every sense of the word. A gorgeous typical measuring 252-5/8" was taken in 2013...easily ranking it as one of the greatest typical whitetails of all time. Massive 300", 350" and 400"+ non-typical bucks are taken here every fall. All W.W. deer are born on the property and have lived here all their lives. Additionally, if you are up to the ultimate challenge, set your sights on one of the smart, old "legendary" bucks who have spent 7, 8, 9 or more years living by their wits in the impenetrable cedar swamps. Make your trophy hunt a family affair and bring your spouse, son or daughter with absolute confidence they will be made to feel at home in this pleasant family-oriented environment. Plus, if you are looking for a private hunting destination for your family (or friends), you may secure the entire lodge for a personal home-like hunting camp experience.
