Anyone is eligible to bid, regardless if you've harvested a bighorn in Washington. The successful bidder will be issued a license and tag, and will be able to hunt any open sheep unit with 2 or more (regular) draw permits. In 2013, these were the Selah Butte and Umtanum (either side of Yakima Canyon), Cleman Mountain (near Naches), Mt. Hull, (northeast of Omak), Quilomene (east of Ellensburg), and Manson (north of Lake Chelan) sheep herds. Any changes from these areas will be announced prior to the auction. The auction permit hunter can hunt from September 1 to December 31, 2014; that's two weeks earlier than the general bighorn permit season! Much of the land is managed by WDFW, which generally prohibits commercial guiding. However, the auction permit holder can expect approval to retain a guide during the 1st 2 weeks of the season (as well as after draw permit hunting closes). WSF retains 10% of the auction purchase price. A 5% buyer’s premium will be added to the final bid price of each special permit sold, unless prohibited by statute. Proceeds will be dedicated to WSF Conservation Initiatives. If the winner of this item refuses to pay the premiums required, the item shall be offered to the next highest bidder for the price he/she bid.

They are very vast pieces of free roaming land, similar to National Parks, directly managed by the game department, where very restricted hunting is allowed. Hunting at any of these areas is a real privilege. Scouting is done before the hunter gets there and most important, to the top quality of these hunting areas, one week is time enough to harvest 2-3 trophies. Hunter may extend the length of the hunt and go for any of the species that Spain has to offer. If lucky bidder wishes, we invite a second hunter to join him for the same amount sold at the WSF auction. In April 2007, Michael Bindon harvested with his bow the all time record for the Hunting Preserve Sierra de Gredos taken with any weapon. It is the fourth time in a row that one of Giuseppe’s hunters breaks this record (Archie Nesbitt in 2008, Tim Smith and Rob Gerstner in 2012 and Michael Bindon again in 2013!) Giuseppe will make this an unforgettable experience for the hunter and the non-hunting companion. NUNIVAK ISLAND MUSKOX PERMIT SX001/003
NUNIVAK ISLAND MUSKOX PERMIT SX001/003 Alaska Department of Fish and Game P.O. Box 1467 Bethel, AK 99559 Contact Patrick Jones 907.543.2839 Booth #867 NUNIVAK ISLAND MUSKOX PERMIT SX001/003 Between the years of 1935-1936 thirty-one white faced muskoxen from Greenland were released in Game Management Unit 18 on Nunivak Island. This release was the first step toward reintroducing muskox to Alaska. The Nunivak Island population grew slowly until approximately 1958 and then began a period of rapid population growth. The first state-sanctioned hunting season was held in 1975 and the population has since maintained between 400 and 750 animals; a healthy density for the habitat available on Nunivak Island. Periods of low natural mortality and absence of predators have resulted in the presence of older individuals within the herd and contribute to the excellent trophy quality of the Nunivak muskox population. The most recent population survey indicated that the adult bull to cow ratio was 105:100 meaning great opportunity for hunters to observe and harvest a mature bull on their hunt. Nunivak bull DX001 is open September 1-30, and DX003 is open February 1 through March 15th. This split season allows the hunter to choose between two different hunt styles. The September hunt is primarily boat or ATV based and requires more walking than the winter hunt which is conducted almost entirely from snow machines. Success rate for both seasons is nearly 100% for hunters who base their hunt out of Mekoryuk (the only village on the island). Mekoryuk is home to two guides and three transporters that are native to Nunivak Island. These individuals know the island and its wildlife very well contributing to further hunt success.
