Unique Collaborative Art Piece
'The Hunter and the Hunted' is a Unique Collaborative Art Piece donate by Kobus Möller and Stephen Townley Bassett. After spending time with a clan of San Bushmen in the southwest corner of Namibia, Kobus was impressed with the naturalness, honesty and sheer tenacity of these unique people. Using the same style and techniques used when painting wildlife, Kobus is proud to partner with award winning author and artist, Stephen Townley Bassett to portray the hunter and his depiction of the hunt. Stephen has used his vast knowledge of ancient paint making techniques to render the eland panel in natural earth ochres and binders, as would have been practiced by the early Bushmen of Southern Africa. The Krieghoff Classic is for hunters who relish in legends past while seeking the reliability and safety modern engineering offers. Introduced in 1900, the .470 cartridge delivers superior penetration and stopping power when hunting any Big Five game. Krieghoff's patented Combi--cocking device allows the rifle to be carried fully loaded, while the hammers remain uncocked thereby eliminating the chance of accidental discharge. One smooth motion readies the hunter for the shot, or renders the rifle safe again should the moment pass. Stocked with select wood finished with fine checkering, the Classic's specially shaped stock allows for comfort when shooting large calibers. Double triggers designed to optimize the quick second shot are crisp and responsive. Arabesque engraving accents the steel receiver, adding an elegant finishing touch to the rifle. The gun will come in a lightweight custom molded case by Negrini. Optional 20 gauge barrels are available for those wishing to enjoy a little wingshooting on the big game hunt.
