A hunter should be in reasonably good shape, because moose hunting is not easy. Hiking and climbing are usually involved, and then packing a 1,600 pound moose is required after the kill. So, a hunter should be in reasonable physical condition for his or her age. A packer is available on request, but at additional cost. A typical day begins with breakfast at the crack of light and then climbing to a vantage point so that quality 10x42 binoculars can be used to survey the terrain, searching for trophy bull moose. Typically, we sit all day long, until we find a bull worth chasing. This is a highly effective way to hunt extremely large Alaska/Yukon moose and it’s the preferred hunting tactic.
