Wildlife Painting / Shea Meyer
Shea Meyer will be completing a wildlife painting throughout the evening which will be auctioned off at the end of the evening for attendees at the banquet. We invite you to watch as his art develops and hope that you will take his work home with you! Shea Meyer is an Oklahoma western and wildlife artist. Shea grew up out in the Oklahoma panhandle surrounded by wide open prairies, elaborate sunsets, horses, and cattle, which all became subjects in much of his early work. Shea earned his Bachelor’s of Fine Arts from Oklahoma Panhandle State University in 2005. While at college he studied under many professional artists (many of whom were wildlife artists) who helped shape into the artist he is today; painting ducks, deer, and fish along with his western scenes. About 10 years ago Shea was asked to do a live worship painting at his church. Ever since, he has done many live paintings at churches and other events. Shea and his family have been involved in livestock showing for the last 6 years. And he has been live painting for the Garvin County Jr Livestock Premium Sale for the past 4 years, and each year the painting is auctioned off as an add on to all the kids that made premium sale. Shea has competed in several duck stamp contests over the past 12 years, and fell in love with painting the colors of ducks and reflections in the water, all while a name for himself with the wildlife community. He has also been the feature artist on Oklahoma’s hunting and fishing licenses for the past 3 years. Shea now lives in southern Oklahoma on a small peach farm with is wife, Amber and two daughters, where he still finds his inspiration for much of his work in the beauty of the land and the animals that live on it.
