That was the feedback we got on our original Stryker, so we made the Stryker XL. We still didn’t seem to scratch the itch for more capacity on this platform for some. The Hellbender adds an extra 350 in³ to internal storage and a large Bane style pocket on the outside for extra layers or wet gear. The sling is now made from Xpac to help with cleaning up after a successful hunt. The compression straps can move from the main bag to the back seam to keep your optics protected for the pack out. This piece of art was created by our long term partner, Marquis awards using a sublimation printing method. Sublimation printing (sometimes called all-over print (AOP)) is a unique process that uses high heat and pressure to transfer high resolution, full-color photos or designs from special sublimation paper directly onto the chosen product (ceramic tile, metals, fabrics, etc.). Starting in 2018 we produced the Grizzly, then the Bison, the Moose and the Elk followed by the Wolf blanket. This year we are proud to present the last blanket of the series, the Bighorn sheep. These blankets are a limited edition series of 1872, the year the Park was dedicated as the first National Park and are numbered 1 through 1872. These blankets are woven by Pendleton Woolen Mills exclusively for Jackson Hole Pendleton. These regal animals embody “the spirt of high wild places”. Once numbering in the millions, the Rocky Mountain Bighorn sheep is found from Alberta, Canada to northern Arizona. Fortunately, Yellowstone Park supports a good number of sheep mostly in the rough areas that provide good escape routes from predators. In appearance, stature and agility, the Bighorn sheep is a far cry from his domestic cousin. Bighorn sheep don’t have wool, in fact their coat is more like that of a deer. This eagle sculpture on a maple wood base was created by Frank & Sue Entsminger and is being donated for the 2025 Sheep Show. The bald eagle is a symbol of America, a nation strong, bold, courageous, and free just like our Wild Sheep organization. Throughout Frank’s art career, his art fans strongly encouraged him to sculpt an eagle. A client asked Frank to do one life-size by a certain time. With a looming deadline, Frank’s lovely supportive wife, Sue, could see the huge project that faced Frank & she stepped in to help. Frank was excited to have Sue help with fresh new ideas on how to make the process easier. Frank engineered the base & the position of open wings after prey. He started with a block of foam to carved the first wing. Sue began on the tail suggesting doing individual feathers not a block of foam. This really helped. After carving the first wing from a black of foam, Frank could see doing individual feathers for the wing primaries was the best. Together they worked on the other wing making individual primary feather. Most of the detailing of the wings top & bottom were done by Sue, while Frank carved the body. Together they worked the winter of 2022-23 everyday, putting in long hours bringing the life-size bronze eagle to fruition. The eagle sculpture is Frank's first ever life-size sculpture & the first ever from both Frank & Sue.
